Shutdown/Freeze During Uplay download

Windows 7 freezes during my Uplay download of AC Black Flag. Is there a way to download it compressed or through Steam(since it lets you resume download after shut down unlike Uplay)?

Unless you bought it through Steam then I guess you're outta luck and your going to have to stay with uPlay.

I presume it is viruses but services like Microsoft Security Essentials do not pick anything up. It freezes basically anytime after it boots. I might want to add that this is a new build and I am reusing a laptop hard drive.

Hmm.... A reused hard drive may be the cause? It is probably more likely that it is a virus. How about you give your PC a good full system scan? Maybe that will help.

Yes, if you have a windows install CD or the CD that came with your PC when you purchased it, then you can boot off of that and attempt a repair. If not, there is always the option of completely re installing the OS. For that you will need a Windows install disk.
