shutdown problem in laptop

My laptop hibernates instead of shutting down when I click on the shut down button (in Windows 8.1 after installing linux as a dual boot)? plz help me guys

Right click on the start icon, go to "power options". From there, click on "change plan settings" for the plan currently selected. Click on "change advanced power settings", and then scroll down to "power buttons and lid". You can change what the power button does there.
