Recent install Win 10 Education. I clicked on shutdown and another box pops up and asks "What do you want to do" and then you have another choice to shutdown. How can I rid this in regedit?

Solution
Try a clean boot and see if it changes anything - make sure to read instructions and make sure NOT to disable any microsoft services or windows won't load right - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

if clean boot fixes it, it shows its likely a startup program. You should, over a number of startups. restart the programs you stopped to isolate the one that is to blame.

its possibly caused by a startup program, the above should let you identify it.

Due to the way Windows 10 power schemes work, your PC is never off when its shut down, so start up programs are saved as part of shutdown so that they can be restarted again when pc wakes up. Turning off fast startup might help -...
Hello

Can you please try going to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Reliability (or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Reliability) in Windows Registry, and setting the values of ShutdownReasonOn and ShutdownReasonUI to 0?

Hope this helps.

Cheers!!
