Shuts down automatically

To whome so ever it may be concerned to, i have this Acer aspire 5349 for years been using it, until now acts weird, the screen won't turn up as normal, meaning the screens damn dim, the fan makes no sound of it neither any lights come on! It all started like the laptop comes on for a few secs and then shuts down automatically within a few secs! Tried removing the battery and also tried putting it back on making sure to cut off the power before inserting the battery back in!! The blue light comes on for a sec or two and then goes back off! Can someone suggest or help fix!! Have a lot of stuff stored in it as imp as Some Diamond's. Lol. Plz help!!

Firstly you should always have important data backed up. A drive can die with no warning and other things can happen killing your data.

It sounds like a hardware failure of some sort. The first thing I would do is take the HDD/SSD out, connect to another computer and backup your data.

Once this is done I’d wipe the drive and then reinstall Windows. If this doesn’t fix your issues then it’s a hardware issue and time to retire this laptop as I highly doubt any fix if possible will be cost effective.

Can you please explain how do i do this, "The first thing I would do is take the HDD/SSD out, connect to another computer and backup your data". At least something better than nothing!!

Easiest way is buying a 2.5” HDD/SSD caddy. You just put the drive in the caddy and connect to another pc via usb. The pc will see it as another drive.
