Hello,
My new Shuttle SX79R5 have caused me alot of trouble the last days so in a last attempt in trying to get it running, i turn for help. The only thing i am certain of is that the GPU and CPU fan is starting. Everything else is hard to check since i`ve got no video output.. So dear gurus out there, this is the situation.
I am running a Shuttle SX79R5 with Crucial DDR3 Ballistix 16GB (1600MHz) RAM, EVGA 670 GPU and an intel i-7 4820K CPU. I Have not bothered to connect the optical and harddrive yet.
This is what i have done
First, the shuttle was delivered with a motherboard and PSU, so the ATX cabels are allready connected. I have also checked it against the datasheet that came with the computer.
I noticed that one of the pin on the CPU socket was bent a little. I used an stiff paper and bent it slightly back again and it seems like it is in the correct position now.. The CPU was then mounted in accordance with the datasheet.
I then mounted the memory and last but not least, the GPU.
Then i tried to start the computer, but nothing really happens. The GPU and CPU fan starts and the blue LED in front on the box is turning on, but no video output. I have uploaded the clip where i film the starting of the computer to Youtube.
The problemsolving i have done
1. I have tried to start up with only one of the RAM block connected.
2. I have tried to change to an older graphics card (GT 8600).
3. i have tried another monitor.
4. I have tried CMOS.
5. I have checked that the CPU got its correct position several times.
6. I have tried to put the RAM in different slots.
7. I have checked most of the cables (including ATX cabels that were allready connected)
8. I have tried to boot without GPU, without RAM and without CPU. There was no difference in either of the tests.
So.... What can i do now? Is there something i have not done or could it be a faulty motherboard? Is there some way to check if the components work without having another workstation (only got a laptop).
Hoping there is someone out there who can help me.
