Side panel now collapses manually, but still not via preferences

I made a thread quite a while ago about this. Back then I couldn't even collapse it manually. Now it collapses manually, but still not automatically via preferences.

Is this change an indication that it might eventually collapse automatically via Preference settings to?

Never mind, I forgot it not responding to preferences had to do with my using Chrome Incognito mode. The same is true of PC Gamer, which uses the same forum software.

At least I can manually collapse it now, which wasn't possible for a LONG time.
