Sidewinder precision2 windows7 setting

I can not get my microsoft sidewinder precision 2 joystick to work on my new gateway windows 7 . Can you help?

If you did a serach, you should have found this. According to this post, it should work fine as is.

The computer says the device is working but how do you program the joy stick if it wont run the CD?
When I try to load the CD, The message reads "The version of this file is not compatable with the version of windows you are running." I can't calibrate the joystick with out loading the CD. I hope you can help.

You don't need to install the software.

I'm at work now, but I think you can calibrate the settings in:

Control Panel> Hardware and Sound>Devices and Printers. Right click your device then click on properties.
