I recently purchased a used Strategic Commander with no cd. Thinking that i
could just download the software from net. I soon found myself in total
frustration when i found out that i could not use my new toy on windows xp
even when i ran the setup in win 98 mode. The software tells me its going to
install DirectX 5.0 then malfunctions and closes. Does anyone else have this
problem? I was also upset when i read the system requirements off the box
(Windows 98 or later Operating System) and checked them with the system
requirements off the sidewinder website (Windows 95-98). Now i've seen
sidewinder products still being sold and am wondering why this product would
still be on the market when it DOES NOT run on win XP.
Is there a website that contains a working version for Win XP?
Is there another program that will let me configure this product?
Thank you for reading my post
