I have a linksys router model #WRT54G2 v1.5 and a Siemans Speedstream 4100. I am able to connect to my DSL with just my modem. If I connect everything into the router I am unable to connect to the internet. If I can connect I get a connection for about a second and then it drops. I have called Linksys and AT&T and no one seems to be able to solve the problem. I have had two people at my home looking at it and they can not figure it out either. I just got a new computer with Windows 7 and am wondering if possibly that is the problem even though everyone seems to be telling me no. Does anyone know how I can get the router to be recognized so I can use it so I can use it. The only reason I purchased it was so I could connect to the internet on my laptop when my husband is on the desktop and now it makes no sense to have it if I can't even get it to work. Not sure if there is a simple solution. I have spent about 4 hours on the phone with linksys and 2 hours with AT&T. Not to mention the time people have come over to try to get it to work. I am kinda computer illiterate so simple terms would be appreciated. Thanks.

how many laptops are on it?

this is how the cabling should go

router to Modem through modem port on the router it shjhould be a yellow cable and should say cat5e or cat6 on it

then it should go from the computer to the router for PC link

then the power

so three wires unless you have vonage

try using the disk to configure the router and if it gives you any kind of number set like

xxxx.xx.xxx.x or something like that then go to Internet Explorer and put it into the address bar
then click on MAC address or code and clone it

this may work

I have 1 laptop and the desktop. I have been wiring it to the desktop so I can use the laptop. I think that is what you were looking for. Thank you for your help. I will try that in the next day or so to see if that works.

Hi,

Does anyone fixed this issue? I'm currently having the same here. My speedstream router keeps being rebooted by the windows 7 64bits. When I deactivate the LAN adapter the router remains on. As soon as I activate It the router is rebooted and when It manages to connect again It's one more time rebooted on an infinite loop 🙁

I've tried almost everything, excepet formatting again and rolling back to XP, which I think may be the best answer...
