SIGMA ON TOUR - Volume 1

My name is Pedro Verne. I am a world-renowned professional freelance
photographer. I've photographed nearly every corner of the globe,
using all accepted pro photo formats (35mm, medium format, large
format, digital). I was born and raised in Jamaica, and I currently
reside on the west coast of the United States of America.

I am about to set out on a journey to travel around the world. I will
take one camera body with me - a Sigma SD10 equipped with the Foveon
sensor. In addition to this fine body, I will have a full range of
quality Sigma lenses and a Sony laptop at my side.

With each of my destinations, I will post one photo to represent my
best work in that location. It is in my (well-researched) opinion that
the Sigma SD10, equipped with appropriate lenses, can directly compete
with medium format (120/220) film, and/or MF digital backs. It is also
in my opinion that the resolution and quality of the Sigma SD10 image
is far superior to any other 35mm film or comparable digital image. By
the end of my tour, I expect that you will all agree.

I will post my first SD10 tour photo when I get to my first
destination, along with an account of my experience in that location.
I've set up a gallery and dedicated domain to host the images. Here is

sentence.

Ironic to post your picture in B+W when Sigma claims it's sensor resolves
color better than any other maker.

his site. There will certainly be some results, though probably not what
'Pedro" was aiming for.

Well, maybe he's the salsa teacher at

Pedro Verne-Marini who participated in the conference at
http://home.earthlink.net/~nhma/newdoc.htm. A couple of other mentions
seem to be the Portugues translation of the name Pierre Verne, the
father of Jules Verne.

The harm that Preddy does is that when anyone comes in here with any thing
nice to say about Sigma we assume that its Preddy with more lies. So...I did
a search of "Pedro Verne world-renowned professional freelance
photographer"....I even did a search for "humble Pedro..." and unless you
are better known as a dancer or you just passed the bar exam you don't show
up in my searches. So...next is a whois on that domain....hmmmm....nothing
there either.

Would you point out where you show up on this list?

So this makes the questions, who is "Taloha, Inc.", why is someone in San

And TK seems to be Tokelau, "...three large atolls 480 km north of
Western Samoa (Tokelau means 'north' in the Polynesian language)."
It's governed by New Zealand, and "To get to Tokelau you need a 37 hrs
boat trip from Apia, West Samoa. This is the only way to get there."

The IP comes up as Los Angeles, not San Francisco.

Wrong side of the world. .tk is Tokelau, and it's in the Pacific. They sell
domain names, much like Tonga does.

As far as who Taloha is, see:

People are all too quick to slag off siga, but I have a 70-210 f2.8, much
cheaper than the Nikon version, and I get supurb results from them. Their
bodies are a different matter.

If you haven't gone yet, why are you already concluding that the Sigma
digital is a "fine camera"?

Seems to me, it'd serve better for your trip, if you had no presuppositions
about your equipment, and gave it an honest and impartial critique.

By the way, why don't you tell us which lenses you'll be taking along,
instead of saying a "full range"?
