My Windows 11 PC has significantly slower download and upload speeds compared to other PCs connected to the same network via ethernet..

My motherboard is an Asus Tuf Gaming B760 Plus WiFi. I've done a whole bunch of stuff to try and fix it.

  • tried all the ipconfig reset commands
  • reset network adapter settings
  • messed with adapter power saving settings
  • also replaced cable to see if that would help

The closest thing that came to helping was tcp optimiser but that only boosted it by around 200mbps leaving it sitting at 500 down and up. Other PCs on my network are getting 950 down and up so still a big difference.

Many times the tcp optimizer makes thing much worse. The default setting from microsoft tend to already be optimized. These type of tools used to make sense before the tcp sliding window was put into windows years ago.

I am not sure what asus calls their "gaming" network software/bloatware they bundle with the motherboard. A common name is cfosspeed. You want to uninstall any kind of software like this. It is completely silly. Nothing you run on your machine can affect the latency outside your machine and if you have latency issues inside the machine you have a huge issue or are doing something stupid.

Could also be browser setting maybe try a different browser. Also be sure the speedtst is using the same server location on the pc you are comparing.
