Hello all,

I have duall PIII 933 system, but the coolers producing too much noise. I'm looking for very quiet and quite efficient coolers to them. Anyone know, what are minimum rpm requriements for stable PIII work and how high is power consumption ?

I also looking for efficient cooling system for my Raid 0 array. I have 2xWD 80GB JB's and they are very hot when during high usage. What would you recommend for them ? Any good HDD Bays or something like that ? I Thought about mounting them in 5,25" bays with 2 or 3 coolers. Would it help ? Do the coolers should be directed to inside or outside of the case ?

Thanks for help.
Best wishes for all.
Robert

Well, for a dual pentium 3 system, you can use AMD fans (socket 370 and 462 are pretty much clip compatible). For quiet and efficient? I'd reccomend 2 Thermalright Sk7's and 2 quiet generic 80mm fans. Not too expensive, and very quiet. If you are going to get 2 dedicated hard drive coolers, i'd just go ahead and get a good case that has a hard drive rack cooling built in. My suggestion, an Antec, Chieftec, Coolermaster, or Lian Li case. All have excellent cooling, and can be had for less than $100

Instead of Rdram, why not just merge 4 Sdram channels...

Thanks for help.
I thought about buying Arctic or Coolermaster Silent-series coolers. Have you heard about them ?

Thanks,
Robert

Arctic cooling doesn't have any relation to Coolermaster or Arctic silver, so i'd stay clear of them. Coolermaster makes some nice heatsinks, i've heard of them yes, but you have to look at the individual models. I'd stay clear of the ones with the fans rated above 34 decibels of noise. Other than that, you're good to go either company

coolermasters in general are not great coolers from my experience (and reading)
could you post a link to the silent-series coolers so i could look at them?
if the thermalright sk-7 can in fact be used with your p3s, then i'd do that (i know they can be used for socket A processors like athlon and duron)
the sk-6 can be used with p3s, so you should check that out
if you want silent, go for a 30dBA and under fan
if you want silent AND efficient, go for watercooling because air really isn't that efficient :-/

I solved my problem. 2 days ago I bought 2 Arctic coolers and Codegen 9011 case. Coolers are good for me. Processors have almost the same temperature as with my old Coolermaster DB5(or 7 I don't remember now) and they are very quiet. But the best is the case - it is a server-like but with good cooling and expanding possibilities. It has many space for hard drives cables etc.

Thanks everyone for help,
Best wishes for all
