Hm... if I go without a few luxuries, like no more toothpaste or underwear for the next 14,000 years, I just might be able to afford a used one...


The article mentioned the controller uses a 12nm process. Just out of curiosity - what are the process nodes of typical consumer grade Gen4 SSD controllers?

Wouldn't it make sense that this controller would support Micron's new 232-layer TLC, especially since Micron's new TLC has OnFi 5.0 support at 2400MT/s, just like what this new SMI controller is supposed to support?

My thoughts exactly. Plus, would that hit ~200TB?
