I've had no new messages since the 18th aug!

So, today, out of curiosity I went to 'view/current view' and
discovered that it was set to 'show downloaded messages only'!

How daft can you get?

Outlook Express? You might also want to go to View | Layout and
check "Views Bar."

That will let you always see what your current view is.
