The 7600x is supposed to be running at 5.3Ghz at boost speeds, but mine is running at 5.4Ghz. Is this normal or is there an overclock on my cpu? I have not been overclocking my cpu in any way.

Thanks.

What are you using to determine this? And what motherboard do you have?
Both CPU-Z and MSI Afterburner telles me it runs at 5450mhz. I am using the B650 MSI gaming plus wifi.

The reason i am asking is that i have had some issues with my new build. First it would not boot in EXPO due to RAM incompatibility. I changed my RAM and it booted at 6000mhz. Then my Windows 11 booted very slowly and I solved it my isolating an AMD program called AMD utility express. And now I have occasional restarts out of the blue. No error message (event viewer telling my it’s a kernel 41 critical error) nor condition (restarts both idle and under gaming). And I can’t figure this one out. I thought maybe when I saw the 5450mhz boost at an 5300mhz cpu, that somehow I had an unstable overclock on my cpu causing the restarts.

The only thing I could think of is the motherboard defaults PBO on, which is stupid. But I'm too lazy right now to check that.

You could make sure your BIOS is running on default settings and double check to make sure PBO is off.
The PBO was on AUTO and i disabled it. running at 5.3Ghz now.

Edit: still runs at 5450Mhz.

While I'd like to believe this isn't normal behavior, I also don't really see a problem with this either unless you're not mentioning some issue with the PC outside of it seemingly going past its official boost clock rating.

It might not be a problem at all, but as I posted above, I am looking for the reason why my PC restarts by it self with no warning or error message. So, my "logic" was that maybe I had an unstable OC on causing a reboot.
