Silverstone Grandia GD10

Solution
Now I know you have experience. your judgment trumps what I think. I have two systems, one with a GTX 750ti, which I use the most, and another with a GTX 970. The 960/950 is a good choice and low power.

The feet are removable and the case can lie flat, like a 'pizza box'. My ML07 works the same way. I have it up on end, but it will run 'flat'.

If you go mITX, you will be able to run only one GPU (even if it is a GTX 980ti :) )
Here's a review. http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/chassis/75141-silverstone-grandia-gd10/

My build is in the Silverstone Milo ML07 HTPC. Worked form me very well. Look at the RVZ02B HTPC and see if you like 'very small' :)

I'd consider using that case if it made sense. It's too big for me though.

I Wouldnt Reccomend That Case If I Were You.First Of All It Looks Like a 90s Reciever And The Cable Management on this thing is HORRIBLE.Other than that it has many fan slots and best for airflow.I'd Recommend These

How is cable management and was building in it easy?

I'll happily answer, but first I'd like to know why you like the Grandia? The reasons you give will help us with alternatives.

The ML07 and RVZ02B are both mITX cases. The ML07 is not an easy build. The RVZ02B is very easy and can handle very powerful components.

Here's a review of the new, small, RVZ02 case. http://www.techspot.com/review/1062-silverstone-raven-rvz02/

Well it's quite a long story and I have been creating a lot of posts to receive help, but I'm still having a big dilemma over which parts I should choose etc. To cut the long story short, I want to sell my PS4 and build a similarly compact pc(it can be bigger obviously). I don't want it to be extremely powerful, just upgradeable for future updates. I was thinking of maybe going with an ATX board this time as I have previously owned an mITX pc and cannot say I was incredibly happy with what it had to offer. So my plan this time was to start with an i3 Skylake,8GB of RAM and a GTX 950/960 then upgrade to an i5/i7(whichever yields tangible benefits over the previous CPU) and probably add another card in the meantime for SLi. But as I travel quite a lot to my home country back and forth I need to sometimes take my gaming pc with me, so after some thought and research I decided that the Grandia is too big for my purpose. I really like the RVZ01, both for style, compact size and looks like it's easy to build in. I dislike the RVZ02 for its vulgar style.

P.S: I live in the UK so please take this into account when suggesting parts.

Thanks very much and I hope I haven't exhausted you with all my questions.

No. It helps a lot. Did you look at the RVZ02B? (without those clear plastic grilles) ( its ts???? what do you mean)

Have a look through these threads. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2625445/build-log-consolidated-middle-school-builds.html This is all the builds we have done at school. The first is the computer I'm using here with the ML07, and you can get some idea of what will fit in it.

SLI will require a mATX board, at least, and a larger case and PSU as a result. I'd try and start with a refurbished or open box GTX 970 from the start.

Sorry that was a mistype there. To be honest I had a look at the link you sent me and I must say the RVZ02 looks like the people at Silverstone have it all figured out. The cable management is pretty good and I like the way the GPU sits at the back away from everything else. Now I had a look at the black one(without the plastic clear grills) and I think it's not that bad. Only thing that worries me is whether it can sit horizontally on a desk(if you can remove the feet it's standing on). As for the GTX 970, I bought one last year and had been using it for around 6 months before I sold it. Very powerful card and I was incredibly thrilled with it, very sad to have sold it but I couldn't do otherwise. I believe given my situation(the fact that I've been playing WoW and HOTS for the past 3 months) the GTX 950 seems to be the right choice since it's MMO and MOBA optimized and consumes very little power while being powerful enough to run mainstream games at 1080P in reasonable settings. I could always upgrade my GPU in a year or so and go for the new Pascal GPU's. what do you think?

Yeah that's right, you can always add any card later on. Thanks for all the help, just one last question. I had a look for the motherboards currently available for Skylake CPU's but it appears that there isn't much variety, only a few motherboards available for each chipset (B150,H110,H170). Are there are any news of upcoming hardware from vendors?

A quick check on PCPartPicker shows

ASRock 14
ASUS 17
EVGA 2
Gigabyte 18
MSI 14

Some are dirt cheap and others crazy expensive, but that's still quite a range. The technosystem is still growing. New motherboards will be created to meet perceived needs. The Qs are yet to be released, I think. There are three or four good choices at most market points, which is about all I would expect.

I don't know if that makes sense but in the UK there's only one mITX board available for each chipset(B150,H110,H170,Z170). I want to get one that supports DDR4 memory as well as Skylake CPU's but they're really expensive. Should I wait to see if more are released? If not which one should I choose?(I provide a link from a reputable UK website)

http://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/all/motherboards-intel/2120/2108/2107/2061

I had a quick look, and found four ASRock mITX boards that support DDR4, two each for H170 and Z170, and a Gigabyte H170 and an EVGA Z170.

I'd be looking at the more expensive ASRock H170, or the cheaper Z170, unless you need features only the Fatal1ty has.

Overclocking is not essential for gaming builds, and the ASRock Z170N-ITX/ac will support a moderate overclock.

here's some links so you can check features.

http://www.tomshardware.com/news/asrock-z170-motherboards,29763.html

The Z170 above is available fro Amazon, dabs, and morecomputers, at least.

mITX is a niche market, so I would not expect much more until the next wave. There aren't that many more LGA 1150 mITX boards.

You could wait and see what MSI or ASUS are going to release in your market, but don't hold your breath. ASRock is the leader in mITX at the low and mid level.
