I am using SimCity as a example of what i want my desktop to be able to play without a issue. But what the desktop will be mainly used to play is Lego games. Here is what i have so far: raid max cobra z micro tax case
MSI A88XM FM2+ motherboard
Rosewill rnwd n9003pce wireless adapter
NZXT Hale82 700w modular PSU
AMD A8 7600 quad core cpu
Enermax ets t40 twister cup cooler
Asus r7250x 2 gb video card

I am looking to spend under 750. But want to be able to run the games at max settings. Suggestions for best ram appreciated. With what i currently have selected price is @ 554. Have HDD with Operating System already installed that i will be using.

Get the FX6300 if you are going to be using a video card. You also do not need close to your wattage powersupply, a 550 or 600 is more than enough for that video card.

If you are changing the motherboard you will need to re-install Windows, you can't just switch the hard drive and boot it. It may work in some cases and just ask you for drivers, but most of the time it will either not boot, not start Windows or crash soon as Windows loads.

Better and cheaper.

There's linux which is free.. But I wouldn't have a linux system for gaming. Windows 8.1 is the cheapest Windows OS at $92. So I'd get Windows 8.1.
