Hello everyone,
I'm curious if my planned upgrade can run SimCity 5 on high settings.
Current specs:
e8400 wolfdale 3 GHz
Radeon HD 4870
3.25 usable RAM on WinXP
I was planning on adding some RAM for a total of 8GB after a Win7 upgrade.
I'm thinking of upgrading to an nvidia GTX 660. I'm wondering if this will be bottleneck by my processor though. I really don't want to upgrade processor and Mobo since I don't want to spend more than ~300 now. I asked around on the EA forums and was told that it would run fine until my city grew in size, then my cpu's aged architecture would start to show.
I also read that this is basically a single thread game, and won't utilize extra cores, and that getting a powerful gpu is the way to go.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
