Wanting to build a similar (or better) computer to the computer that I currently have.

Current specs (leaving out the items I don't need):
GPU: Radeon 7850 2gb OC edition
CPU: Phenom II x4 965 black edition
Case: Cooler master HAF 912
Motherboard: ASRock 760GM-GS3
PSU: Antec Basiq VP450 450W
Ram: Patriot Viper 3 8GB 2X4GB PC3-12800 DDR3-1600


Also, I need an optical drive and possibly a 375ish gig hdd.

I would just build the same computer because I know it's done me well over the years but I know there's a better build considering these have been around for awhile.

I'm not upgrading, I'm building my fiance one. It's been a pain to find the parts i'm currently using one this one, mainly because the items are discontinued or out of stock. around $450-500

The two hard drives are so you can pick whether you want to get 500 GBs for cheap, or for only $12 more dollars get the full TB.

Alright so I've gotten my hand on a hdd and optical drive. Maybe we could bump the gpu up a bit with the extra money and possibly a more efficient psu (bronze maybe?) to compensate for beefier gpu. Also I'm not planning to overclock the system anytime soon and my stock phenom cooler seems to be going strong for mine, so maybe we could cut that too? She doesn't have the desk space that I do either so the micro atx/case will be very convenient.

The R7 260x comes in just under your 7850 in the rankings: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html so this is pretty damn close to what your current setup is. And the two cases i've shown are already about as small as you can get, and they are only 6 inches wide and 1 foot tall and 1 foot deep, so that's a pretty good size for a literal desktop. first one had LED fans, 2nd one doesn't and is more 'sleek'.

Well the processor is discontinued, it says so on almost every site I go to (including superbiiz.com which you linked).
I like it so far, i'd just need a cpu and that's one of the things i'm not current with. So as a last request, could you help me on that too 😛
