Okay, I got 2 nice P133s with Win 95 on them from an institution I do favors for.
But when I turn them on, all I get is a C:/> Prompt. It goes into Win 95 start screen, but gets all black and says Windows 95 and the prompt. The only thing I can get it to do is Ver and that comes out (Windows 95 Ver. 400.11111) or close to that. I am mainly concerned if they have password protection, as I will have to go back and ask for it, or if I am just supremely ignorant of DOS and there is something that I should know to type.
It is funny, I guess, or perhaps, pathetic, that I have built four computers from scratch, one from a rebuild, and have not had to have any knowledge of DOS other than Format and stuff like that I needed to configure Windows 98 with. I know it is a dying language, but I never had any classes in any computer course.
Oh Well, Please help me if you have any idea of what is going on with these computers. Take-Out

I think you can type "win" at the C:\ to get into Windows.

Then you can alter the autoexec.bat file or the config.sys file and put a line at the end of one of them to make it go into Windows when it boots up.

Thanks for the reply, I found out last night that the hard drive had been wiped so I loaded Win 98 and it runs great. Good Luck, Take-Out. PS: I will write down the "Win" command so I don't forget next time.
