My daughter has just got a GBA SP for her 6th birthday.

Any suggestions for simple but fun games without too much text to get her
introduced to it?

She loves Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine and Zelda Windwaker
on my cube.

Any suggestions for similar fun games on the GBA suitable for younger kids?

Thanks

Matt

Yoshi's Island, which is Mario advance 3 iirc. Very fun platformer.

Here's some that might be good choices:

Banjo-Kazooie (platformer)
Crash Bandicoot series (platformers)
Hamtaro series (Zelda-ish, I think, but geared to the younger crowd)
Pinobee (platformer)
Rayman series (platformers)
Super Mario Advance series (platformers)

I've left off the ones suggested by the others, but those are all good as
well. If you need to look into the games before buying them, I'd suggest
http://gameboy.ign.com. They have reviews and a lot of screenshots/videos
that can help you decide whether the games are appropriate.

Its very likely that the original Zelda may be too difficult for a 6yo.
Puzzles aren't spelled out like they are in successive Zelda's and can get
quite frustrating. Especially when you get to the unbombable invisible
doors of level 9.

Sonics are pretty straight forward. The Spyro and Kirby games are also
generally a good bet.

You can't go wrong with the classics...

Namco Museum
Pac-Man Collection
Konami Arcade Classics
Activision Anthology
Midway Arcade's Greatest Hits
Atari Anniversary Edition

Very useful to me, too, thanks!

I second that Zelda no-no! I am much older than 6 and I am having a really
hard time with it! Maybe the later Zelda games, but there is text in
them...

You would think that Spyro and Crash would be good, but they got bad
reviews. They were fun on the PS2!

You can go wrong with the Midway one, since the ports are really badly
done. Joust/defender for the GBC are so much better.
