simple guide on overclocking my cpu

i want to overclock it to 4.0ghz, how much hotter would it run and is it possible? also how do i go about overclocking my cpu and putting my 1600mhz vengeance ram to 1600mhz (its running at 1333 currently) can anyone link me to a step-by-step guide?
my specifications are amd fx 4100 , asus m5a78lmlx ram 8gb ddr3 1600 please help me out on this as im a begginer ive less knowledge on all of these tweaks. but i wanna take all the precautions before doing this so anyone please suugest me a simple and easy tutorial
