Hello,

I have 3 scenarios. I want to add more ram to my CPU. im only at 16gb, i can have a max of 64gb, and I want anywhere from 32gb to 64gb
MY CURRENT RAM I HAVE. I have 2 of these installed in

G.Skill
F4-2400C17S-8GNT
Value
DDR4-2400MHz CL17-17-17-39 1.20V
8GB (1x8GB)

1st scenario. I want to add these 2 rams:

G.SKILL 16GB (2 x 8GB) Ripjaws V Series DDR4 PC4-19200 2400MHz for Intel X299 / Z270 / Z170 / X99 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C17D-16GVR
About this item

Brand G.SKILL, Series Ripjaws V Series, Model F4-2400C17D-16GVR
Capacity 16GB (2 x 8GB), Type 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM, Speed DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200),
CAS Latency 17, Timing 17-17-17-39, Voltage 1.2V, ECC No,

NOTICE that these 2 rams are dual channel, and my original is single channel. clock speed is the same. Would my computer have issues if i add these 2 rams
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2nd scenario:
Same as above but instead of adding those 2 8gb rams, i will add 2 16gb rams

G.Skill 32GB (2 x 16GB) Ripjaws V Series DDR4 PC4-19200 2400MHz Intel Z170 Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C15D-32GVR

Make sure this fits by entering your model number.

NOTICE That this is as well dual channel AND the clock speed on this is CL15 (15-15-15-35) , while my original 2 rams clock speed is CL17-17-17-39. WILL any of this cause an issue to my computer if i add these 2 16gb rams
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3rd scenario

I add one of these ram sticks

If you want 32GB, buy a 2x16GB set, and sell your current sticks.

Mixing RAM is always a crapshoot.
Okay, in that case|
Should i get the 2 of these set of ram?
G.SKILL 16GB (2 x 8GB) Ripjaws V Series DDR4 PC4-19200 2400MHz for Intel X299 / Z270 / Z170 / X99 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C17D-16GVR
Or the 1 of these set of ram?
G.Skill 32GB (2 x 16GB) Ripjaws V Series DDR4 PC4-19200 2400MHz Intel Z170 Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C15D-32GVR

Whats better, to have all 4 ram slots filled up or just 2 of em. both scenarios will = 32GB of ram in the end

Of those two choices, these:
"G.Skill 32GB (2 x 16GB) "
Okay understood
And is that because of the fact ill have 2 slots empty for future options of adding more ram? or because of the clockspeed being at 15s instead of 17s

Also, when i get the new rams in mail, i just take out the old sticks and put in the new sticks in its place. Do i have to adjust anything in the bios settings or install anything?

2x sticks is/may be slightly better than 4x sticks.

Remove the old, put in the new, you shouldn't have to do anything.
