Since you are getting a supermicro or other high end board it is better you also get a high capacity ram.

The recent SuperMicro and Tyan servers support about 768GB - 1TB of memory. Each server has their own memory specification and the memory supported are different with each models, hence model number plays a vital part in determining the correct memory.
