Simple RAM Compatibility Question

I'm doing HD film editing. I currently have two 1G sticks of RAM. I want to add 2 more Gigs. Is there a problem getting one 2G stick? (Same manufacturer and specs.) Would there be compatibility issues with the two 1G sticks I already have? Thanks for your input.

What can happen if i mix ram?

I currently have installed 2 sticks of Kingston KVR667D2D8F5/1G. I have been considering buying a Kingston KVR667D2D8F5/2G.

Some of the problems that I have encountered and learned about the hard way are:
1. go to RAM website & make sure it is compatible- Crucial has a good configuator.
2. keep the same speeds and voltages.
3. check for dual channel issues.

I couldn't find a compatibilty checker on the Kingston website.

I know that the RAM sticks are compatible with the motherboard from the list on the Supermicro site. Are you saying you were trying to see if the 1G sticks would be compatible with the 2G ones? On the Crucial site, I only saw the typical comparison tool for RAM and motherboards.

How can I check for dual channel issues?
