Do we know what "The Requiem" refers to, yet?

Also...New Orleans is "signature city" of V:tR?? Umm...isn't that
*inviting* comparison to certain other popular vampire properties?^^
Was there ever a "New Orleans by Night" sort of book before? What was
the sig city of V:tM?

That's garbled language.

New Orleans is the signature city because it's detailed in the V:tR
corebook and fleshed out in the first citybook.

However, Chicago is the signature city, because 1) all the signature
characters live in Chicago and the books are set in Chicago, and 2) any
time the question comes up, Justin says that Chicago is the signature
city and New Orleans is just getting coverage first.

The original New Orleans by Night also featured Sam Haight learning
thaumaturgy as a ghoul.

*twitches so hard, he breaks his keyboard. After replacing it with the

have to look at that excuse for burning all copies of OWoD's NObN*

Unless I'm wrong (I cant' remember where I read it), "the
Requiem" is the same of "the Unlife". After the surprise,
I like it more than "unlife". Let "undead and "unliving" to
the vampire hunters, and let's get poetic.

I like the "Requiem".

Unless I wrong (bis repetitas), yes, there was an official NObN. I believe
in this
book one could find (one friend of mine bought it and described it to
me with a great smile...)
1 - Xaviar, the Gangrel Justicar (at the time).
2 - The only Lawful Good Tremere of the World of Darkness.
So, I bought Los Angeles By Night...

Someone could confirm this?

Well, he ought to tell the folks putting together the web site, then,
because it claims New Orleans as the signature city (which is why I
put it in quotation marks)...

Wonder if New WoD will eventually produce a Haight-ish
character...something everyone loves to hate...^^

Chicago was the signature city of V:TM, as most of the IC examples,
scenarious and NPC's were set in Chicago. The characters felt distinctly
like playest PCs and had a richness to them, as opposed to created NPC's
written for the book.

I fondly remember my Boston Vampires visiting and terrorising the Chicago
vampires. Lots of good gaming was had there.

Given White Wolf's eventual reaction to Haight, I think this is *beyond*
unlikely and enters into the realm of obscenely improbable.

shrug..they've also said they weren't gonna do metaplot books for requiem but
$20 says they will.

How do you define "metaplot"?

By that definition the dice mechanics are metaplot. We've already seen
people on both sides of the new dice system.

Heck, you could count the fonts and font sizes in the books as metaplot if
you use that criteria. I'm getting less and less willing to squint as I get
older. Though in fairness, I'd rather have smaller fonts than less material
or more expensive books. I'll just never try to use the texts by
candlelight.

And I haven't seen anything like some of the virtually illegible fonts in
some of the old Wraith sidebars.

You mean the illegible fonts printed in white on dark grey background
illustrations?

Yeah, those are a hoot.

Even then, Wraith was never as bad as the typical Kindred of the
East book's sidebars.

Your eyes may vary.

Fine. $20 says we won't see a Samuel Haight-type character in the next
five years. I'll get back to you for my winnings in 2009:)

Speaking of Wraith, our FLGS had a midnight release party for the new
WoD and at the same time put all their old WoD stock on sale, 50-75%
off. The store owner had ordered as much of his supplier's left over
stock as he could manage and even put some of his used books on sale in
the process. Anyway, long story short I ended up getting a bunch of old
Wraith books for cheap. I never honestly expected to see an actual copy
of Love Beyond Death, let alone own one. :)
