I have a Simpletech 160gb portable hd that connects via USB ports. My XP and Win7 systems don't recognize it. Thinking I was missing a device driver (the drive is about 8 yrs old), I bought a program called driverrestore and scanned everything on my Win7 system. It reports the driver for my Simpletech hd is present and current, but my comp still doesn't recognize it. I saw a suggestion on this forum to assign a drive letter to it, but can't figure out how to do this in Win7 (I really love my XP system and really HATE Win7!)
