My granddaughter says SIms 2 is too slow and doesn't want to play it anymore.
I haven't seen anything on EA games referring to this. Has anyone had this
problem and is it fixable? I have plenty of memory, etc., and it I am running
ME.

How fast is your CPU? What graphics card do you have?

Sims2 requires a minimum of an 850Mhz CPU and if it's not a very recent
graphics card with T & L support, then it's a minimum of a 2Ghz CPU.

Graphics card is too low for the game. If you have an AGP slot, the cards
supported are listed at the Sims2 website at:

I forgot to ask you, is there any way around this without replacing my video

Not really. The specs for Sims2 are quite high.

T&L stands for transformations and lighting. Couple of articles for you...
http://www.beyond3d.com/articles/t&l/index1.php
http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/19991012/index.html

Something like:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=property&DEPA=1
will work fine, provided you have an AGP slot.
