Since a recent Windows 10 update was automatically installed last week I can't open any exe files.I get the following error
"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc00000e5). Click OK to close the application."

Thanks, just for clarity. I was already on Windows 10 and it was working fine but a minor automatic update was installed and seems to have caused the issue.

If that minor update is causing the issue, I'd try unintstalling it to see if it fixes the problem.

I uninstalled that update and it did fix it... although strangely I had to re-install all my browsers to get them to work again.

Windows then automatically re-installed the same update later but this time it didn't break anything :|

Yea, strangely enough, now that Windows 10 is updated more like software nowadays, It's going to break more things then it intends to fix if something goes wrong.
