single band or dual band router?

Hey, I was wondering if I should get a dual band router or just keep my single band router. I just bought a new modem instead of renting from xfinity and I have an old D link xtreme N gigabit Dir-655 router. Currently using a 100 mb speed from xfinity.

I will have my PC directly wired to the router and my sister only uses her Amazon firestick and iPad wirelessly.

I'm kind of tight on money and I don't want to buy another router if I don't need too.

Thanks for the advice.

Solution
A dual band will help, but the real thing is, how far are the devices away from the router, and how many walls will signal have to travel through? A single band could work, but it has some limiting factors. If you are using it now, and you are happy with no speeds, no need to upgrade then. Streaming doesn't require a bunch of speed.

Well the devices are not going to be that far probably within 30 feet and maybe 1-3 walls depending on direction. Also I have not used my router yet since I'm still waiting on my new modem and have not used it since 2014 in a different house.

Ah then you should be good then. Just try to get the router in the center. I know it may be hard to do depending on the deisgn of the house. My apartment had a wall to create a hallwall, but my mother's house has open space in her house so it was much easier. Even with two stories, I had great signal.
