Single card solution, or Crossfire.

So I was browsing through newegg for single card solutions that could fit

me great untill I saw the price of the AMD Radeon 7970 series cards have fell

drastically to about $280 dollars. So would I be better with a single card

solution (Gtx 780) or be better of crossfiring two Radeon 7970's?

If you want better performance than Crossfire is the way. However, if you are gaming at 1080p 60Hz then 1x7970 is enough.

single 780, may be slightly slower, but it saves you a lot of headache and drive issues with Crossfire, and also lower power consumption and strain on your gpu.(and less heat)

Yeah I was thinking just wait for the Hawaii series cards to roll out mid October since it comes with a version of Battlefield 4 and will be drastically better.

yea if you don't need them right now, if you wait a month or two, you can buy new gen cards or get the current gen cards for dirt cheap.
