I don't really know all that much when it comes to performance comparisons between single cards and SLI, so I was wondering if someone could give me a bit of insight. I currently have a single GTX 680 Classified. Great card, still holds up real well on current gen games. But I'm thinking about upgrading it. So I was wondering, what would give me the better performance. Buying a second one of my current cards or buying a new GTX 980 TI Classified?

My personal recommendation for you would be the 980ti. You can sell the 680 and go for that powerhouse card.
You will get more VRAM too and you should be able to play your games smoothly at 1080p/1440p max settings and even 4K.
