[SOLVED] Single core overclock for SPSS

We work a lot with IBM SPSS on Windows 10. And for a lot of our projects, exporting to Excel takes a long time. And sometimes fails.

Different computers. Same os. Same project. Perform differently.

I'm guessing the issue is the fact that SPSS is a single core process.

So I'm thinking of building a rig with the sole purpose of exporting.

The processor would need to be Decently priced. Easily overclockable.

I was thinking of the AMD FX 8350? Would that work? If not, what do you recommend.

If that's the best given the criteria and a limited budget of less than 200 USD. Which motherboard should I go with.

Solution
You might look at an Intel X58 setup. The fastest CPU there is the 3.6GHz 4C 8T X5687. 3 channel DDR3 RAM has good bandwidth.
Actually there was a 2 core X5698 4.4GHz, very rare and even more expensive. But the silicon is rated for that kind of speed when loading just 2 cores.
I see the X5687 for about $40, aftermarket overclocking X58 MB are $100-$150.
Another option would be W3680/W3690 6 core Xeons. They're unlocked so easier to overclock.
