Hello Tom's Hardware,

I recently built a new pc, and I had no use for the old one, so I took the old 1tb hard drive out of it and plugged it into my new rig along with my other 1tb hard drive.

When I boot up my system, I notice that the old hard drive I plugged into my PC appears as two different disks, although there is only one physical drive. I've checked computer management but there is no option to un-partition the drive.

I would also like to note that both disks work, and I can read/write information onto both, but I do not want it to appear as two separate drives.

Solution
If you were running Windows on your older drive then that additional partition showing up could be the manatory 'recovery' partition Windows always creates when installing.

To get rid of that you would have to fully reformat your old drive (which would delete all data on it!) Be sure to back up any data you want to keep if you choose to reformat your old drive.
