Question Single keys requires seconds of holding down to work.

Dell XPS 9550

This happened over the summer but to different keys that are now working fine. A key on my keyboard requires to be pressed down for several seconds before it starts working. Holding the key down keeps producing the letter, but I don't randomly hit it and it works. Always several seconds, then it starts writing the letter.

Try doing a clean boot and see if behavior continues - carefully read instructions and make sure NOT to disables any Microsoft services or Win 10 may not run right - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

this just tests if its caused by startup programs. If behaviour is fixed, slowly re add programs you stopped from loading to identify the cause.

Thanks, but it's almost back to normal without doing anything. I hit "x" not remembering I had to hold it and it worked with a single press yesterday.
