Single large HDD or RAID

Hey, so this coming Boxing Day I'm planning to increase my storage, as of now I have a single 1tb WD Black drive (and a Intel 520 240GB SSD if that's relevant), my question is should I just buy another 1TB drive and set it up in RAID or should I just buy one big 4TB HDD?

Just add the new 1TB (or larger) as another drive. No RAID needed, unless you have a specific application that needs to see a very large, single, drive.
