[SOLVED] Single MIDI song file playback distorted and green volume bar always full

When playing a single MIDI file, the audio meters in sndvol.exe stays at the top and don't bounce, and the playback is loud and distorted. In "Manage audio devices", all the level meter LEDs for my speaker are always on (until playback is stopped). Does this mean there's clipping or OS trouble?

Notice the green bar is above the volume slider.

Is it one particular file, or all of them when played individually?

If one file...then it is that file.

If all of them...pull that slider down. You're overdriving your speakers.

Yes.
Your speakers or whatever is driving them...cannot keep up with the volume you've requested.
