single monitor for both inputs (a)cc cameras and (b) PC

Actually i hv a PC running in my shop.
recently i installed cc cameras.
now my querry is
1) Can i run both these dvr and PC in a single monitor???
2) i purchased Y VGA cable and connected but not displaying both.
it displaying either any one.
pls give to work with both inputs in a single monitor.

Can't be done mate unless you use a VGA video switching box to toggle between PC and CCTV.

Even with that you can't feed the two signals into the monitor at the same time though, the monitor can't handle that.

If you need to be able see PC output & CCTV at the same time, you need a separate monitor for each.
