Question Single or Dual PC Streaming Setup

My current PC that I just built has:

i7-13700k
RTX 3070
32GB DDR5-5600

My old pc has everything in it besides the GPU, so the setup is mainly:

i7-9700k
32GB DDR4-3200

Which would be best: having my main system be both for gaming and streaming using NVENC on my 3070, or setting up my old pc as a steaming only pc using x264 on my 9700k.

How is "best" being determined?

The determination is likely a mix of subjective and objective.

Just use both systems for both purposes.

Use tools such as Task Manager, Resource Monitor, and Process Explorer to obtain quantifiable performance measures. There are other such tools and utilities to be found.

However, all are moot if you do not establish some value or criteria that you consider is "best".

Subjectively it is very probably that you will simply just "like" or prefer one system for gaming and the other system for streaming.

You could end up swapping things about in order to gain some improvement: again being determined objectively and/or subjectively.

Give it all a try. Keep notes, change only one thing at a time. There may be trade-offs to be considered.

However, the key is how you define and measure "best".
