Single power socket wattage concern!

I basically have a single power outlet (UK) in my bedroom which currently runs power to my laptop (dell xps 17), printer, phone/tablet chargers, table lamp and a 32" tele. All this runs on a surge protected extension from that single socket

Currently im in the process of making my first work and gaming PC build, where an additional 500 watts will be added. 2 new monitors too, one 27" 1440p and a second 24" 1080p.

I get the feeling all the above together will be too much for the single outlet to handle and I have no idea what the limitations are in terms of total output. Or would it be fine?

How can i find out what the max output is and can you offer any advice as to what precautions can be taken to prevent overloading unwarranted power demands.

In the UK, the ring main (for sockets) is protected by a 15A fuse, your extension cable should have a 13A fuse in the plug.

13A x 240V = 3120W - - - that's an extremely big safety margin, even when you add 500W to what you're using now it'll be nowhere near 3kW.

It'll be fine, just make sure there's a 13A fuse in the extension cable plug.

Checked my 6-way surge extension - its 13A and I gotto admit the 3000w+ confirmation put a smile on my face :)

I was also meaning to ask. I understand daisy chaining X-way extension cables does work but it's not recommended as it poses a FIRE risk. Is there anyway around this? My main desk is next to the single room power outlet where a new single 2/3 metre 8-way extension cable will allow me to connect my new PC, 2 monitors, speakers, table lamp, phone and tablet chargers.

From the first desk, 3 metres away is my second desk, where I want to place my 32" tele, laptop, wifi enabled printer and possibly a second lamp. Unfortunately i can't place both desks together due to space restrictions and no thanks to the overly imposed in-built wardrobe setup.

What would be the safest option to get everything connected? Are there any daisy-chain safe options available or alternative solutions?
