Site can't be reached?

Last night my 3 year old laptop started to take longer than normal to load various sites. I got an error message saying site can't be reached as it took too long to reach it. Today, it seems ok at the moment. Does this sound a problem a laptop has when it is at the end of it's life? I've tried defragging but it says it's ok. Is there anything else anyone can think of? Really hoping my laptop doesn't pack up while we're all in lockdown. Thanks.

I forgot to say that the error message I kept getting on Monday night was when I turned the laptop back on after I had put it to sleep for about 3 hours. I haven't had this problem the last couple of days as I haven't put the laptop to sleep since. I'm guessing it's not a good idea to put a laptop to sleep for too long.
