not matter what i overclock my CPU to there always ends up being problems and ends up crashing. if i raise it from 3.5 to 3.6 it will work fine for a while then videos games and will stop working i have to restart my pc to fix it. if i go over 4ghz the pc works fine for 20 min then just crashes. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
my pc specs:
i5-6600k
h100i
gigabyte hd3p-z170
980ti
hyper x fury 16gb ram

What psu do you have?

How much voltage are you applying? What are your temps?

You need to provide some more info for help. It almost sounds like you need to apply more voltage, but with no info it's very difficult to just guess.

Are you sure the overclock settings are why the system is crashing? I ask because the turbo boost for that cpu is 3.9 so it should not crash running at 3.6 unless you manually set a very low voltage. Personally, given what I know, I'd restore everything to default and stress the system with factory settings to confirm it is stable at factory defaults before moving forward.
