Hi guys. I'm considering getting an i5 6500 soon and was curious how the stock heatsink holds up? I'm wondering specifically how many decibels it produces. How would it compare to, say, a stock FX 8350 heatsink (which I used to have a while back)? That heatsink was pretty loud.

Also, does it do the job at keeping the CPU cool? Or would it be worth it to fork out 30 bucks for the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO I've been hearing so much about?

Compared tot eh stock cooler on the AMD the Intel stock cooler is much much more quieter but in retrospect both coolers performance's aren't worthy of writing home about. As the name suggests the coolers are merely bundled to help those on a budget to run the CPU out of the box. You may find it in your best interests to probably look around for other alternatives by brands like Cryorig, Raijintek or Be Quiet.

One other alternative route for not forking out money on your cooler is to perform undervolting on your CPU provided yo have that functionality on your motherboard within BIOS.
