Hello guys,

First of all thank you to all who read this post and take out time to answer it. Thnx.

Note: After the recommendations that i got here and after watching some videos on youtube i am thinking of dropping the monitor as i already have dell s2240l and instead go for i5 4460 and gtx 970.What do you guys think? Is this monitor okay? And what will be the overall performance of my system?

My problem:

I have a i3 4130, 8gb 1333mhz ram and gtx 750. I want to upgrade my rig so as to play the latest and upcoming games at ultra but dont have much cash. I wanted to get a gsync monitor aoc g2460pg and a new gpu to complement it(like gtx 970).

My question is, will it be worth it? Will this last for 2 years or so? Or should I wait for nearly a year to upgrade to skylake since it will require a complete system upgrade which is really costly here in India.

Also a nice wireless keyboard and mouse's recommendation for gaming would be helpful.

Please reply soon as this is urgent.

Skylake is pretty good. i3s are butting heads with last gen i5. Im using haswell for awhile. I doubt its going to be a bad processor anytime time soon. Haswell should last you some years. Ima go to skylake maybe end of this year if the price is right and ddr4 drops

I have ASUS B85M G.
What performance can I expect from my i3 with gtx 970?

And how much gain can be expected from an i5. Anything above 60fps is fine for me.

my lga1150 i5 4570 and a gtx 970 can max anything. Well i havnt played like witcher 3, fall out 4 that are the top for graphics needing. But a 970 is amazing

Currently for gaming you're right. I do think a better place to spend the money thought would be an i5, a Non-gsync monitor and a 970. because at 1080p g-sync on a 970 is not going to really do much and is just a waste IMHO since most games should give you 60+ fps anyway. That i5 will come in handy later and you can get a good 24" 1080p monitor for 200 or less.

Yeah that monitor is fine. It's response time is a bit slow, but that's only going to be a big factor if you get competitive with MOBAs or FPSs. otherwise being an IPS means it (should) have good colors.

The i5 and 970 is the better upgrade for a better gaming experience.

Also you don't have to reply to individual posts. This isn't reddit, it's an actual forum, everyone here can see every response.

Thanks mate.
Just one last clarification: What kind of fps do you mean? I intend to play bf3, bf4, cod aw, rainbow six... and such.
Will the monitor suffice? If not, then what is your recommendation?
Remember that if i go for monitor then i cannot go for i5 4460 and will be stuck on i3 4130.
Waiting eagerly for the reply.

I mean high level competitive play for those exact games you listed.
It's not really worth it to get another monitor over an i5 and 970.

The response time is fine, I really wouldn't recommend higher than 7ms but this way when you go to step up to a better monitor you don't have to upgrade the rest of the system.
