Hello, im having a difficult time with my spec comparison for the parts for my first build, Build one is a Skylake build (my personal choice) and the other is a Haswell, the more budget version (only slightly), im just looking for a second opinion as to the spec's and future proofing of the hardware,
Keep in mind iv already got a 120GB Kingston SSD for the OS which will be windows 8.1 64 Bit, and i will also be changing the GPU for a GTX 980 or 980ti in the close future.

Skylake:

Haswell:

Any help is really appreciated, Thank You

Alternate view point.

For gaming, the Haswell/Skylake difference is often less than 5%. Haswell will be relevant for many years and by then a memory standard other than DDR4 will be the latest and greatest. 'Future-proof' is about GPU,. not CPU with Intel. Sandy Bridges are still relevant, although getting to the end.

Skylake is faster than haswell by about 5-10% in most regards, so in this case, the Skylake build will be ebtter. Skylake also uses DDR4 Ram which will be more future proof, and the build will last you longer.

That is very true, and I could not agree more. Also, with the very small affect that DDR4 vs DDR3 really ahs, it all comes down to processor performance. Where the skylake performs better, even if it is only 5%, that would theoretically be the better option. I personally would go with the Skylake one, just because it is newer. Others may have differing opinions, but at this point, both Haswell and Skylake make logical sense, so either is fine.

Skylake for the mere fact that investing in a dead socket (haswell) is like throwing your money in the air. You spend the few bucks extra for the latest socket with future chips already being announced giving you avenues of upgradability later. Granted Haswell would easily last you several years to come as well, but protect your investment and buy something that is more relevant to the future. Skylake is the way to go, the only other socket I would recommend right now would be 2011-3.
