skype on TV

hi,
i have a sony kdl-42w900b tv and we use its integrated camera to do a lot of skype.. apparently skype for tv division have stopped further development in june 2016..
i want to use the integrated camera in the tv to make skype calls!
thought of using fire stick but it doesnt support skype!
any workaround to do it?

I don't know how FireStick would help with using TV camera, though. You can plug USB camera to the 'Stick, and (probably) side-load Skype, but it will be trial-and-error.

Short of using an old phone / tablet for Skype - I see no way utilising built-in camera.

fire stick doesnt work unless u side load app ..even then camera doesnt get connected to fire tv as the camera has a proprietary connector..
any more ideas?

Ideas for what? Using "Camera Integrated into TV" with "proprietary connector" with "Fire Stick" without "side-loading"?

Doesnt necessarily need to be a fire stick..
Anything that can use my tv's integrated camera to work with skype

How do you plan to connect it to whatever you are going to use? Is there a cable dangling off the camera?

That camera is "integrated" into your TV. Usually that means it is connected internally to the PC-like component running the "smart" functions of your TV.

The camera sits at the top of my tv.. the camera has pretty small 5cm cable with usb on the other end which goes into usb port which is right next to the camera..
U can use sony kdl42w900b as a reference to search the tv on google

OK, what happens if you plug this camera into a PC / laptop? Can you use it for Skype?
This is the first test to do.

The manual and here does not say anything about web camera...
