Skyrim: Arcane Blacksmith

Hiya, got a question about this perk.

If a person picks this perk and no other (aside from the prerequisite) from the smithing tree.

And enchants a piece of armor (any type, but will use daedric for this example) would they be able to improve it as much as they would if they invested in daedric smithing instead?

If not would the right enchanted gear and potions make up for the difference anyways?

Hmm, I wonder why arcane blacksmith is considered useless then.
It would seem that a high level enchanter + high level alchemist could use arcane blacksmith to avoid spending points on the other perks in this tree?
