I just helped my friend built a new computer a couple weeks ago and he's been getting into games on PC...finally.
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz w/ CM Hyper 212 EVO
M/B: Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Mhz
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB HYBRID
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular
He plays Skyrim quite often.
Today he asks me for help and I'm stumped....he says his game keeps crashing every time he gets into combat. I asked him if he had mods installed, you know I thought it might be some kind mod order issue or something. He said yeah he had mods, but he took them out to see if they were causing the crash. He even re-installed the game to vanilla Skyrim and made a new game save....and he still experiences the same crashing during combat.
He also says that while using MSI Afterburner that it shows the PageFile maxing out every time he goes to play. So I thought maybe he didn't have enough virtual memory set and he's got like 8 GB worth! I had him try turning PageFile off since he's got 16GB and it didn't help...had him set to 4GB and nothing.
I had him delete the INI files so that when Skyrim boots up it will just make them again and set to default..but this didn't work. Oh and his PageFile is also still maxing out too.
