Skyrim CTD after about 5 seconds

I've been playing Skyrim no problem for a couple weeks. This afternoon I did a long session with no interruption. I closed Skyrim to eat dinner and came back. After that, every time I restart the game it runs for about 5 seconds before it crashes to the desktop. There's no alert, no crash report, nothing. The game just closes itself.

Just restarted my computer and made sure Steam was updated. No luck, it's still closing without warning. Anyone have any idea what gives? It was working fine until about an hour ago.

Reinstall your graphics drivers, it might have just become corrupted randomly

^^ and if you downloaded mods they might not be installed correctly.

You can try closing any programs running in the background. I've had FRAPS and XFire cause my Skyrim to CTD.

Thanks for all the help. I tried a few different suggestions mentioned here, but nothing seemed to work. After a couple days I tried to open a different Skyrim saved game and everything worked perfectly. I guess the game I kept trying to load somehow became corrupted?
