Skyrimhas decided to stop working after 900 + hours, I have tried the steam verify integrity and all, please if you do answer me, Please explain in plain English not computer literate as most are here, Thanks in advance
Due to certain updates, scans or so, some of the files may go corrupt. You can't actually whether the files are corrupt or in good shape, it's just assumptions. However, to avoid it, you may have to clean your registry regularly, delete any temporary files, and defragment your HDD.
No errors per say... it just gets stuck at the starting screen, ... you know the one after you press play then it launches to continue which I press to continue and it just remains there???
My computer is according to what I can see "Intel Core 2 Quad CPU... 4.0 GB Ram...2 Terra Byte Hard Drive.... with a NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT video card.

I know what you mean.
Did you try checking event log? It could show you the reason the game crashed, or at least the error.

Solved, or at least for a while, I decided to load from an earlier save... well it took awhile...I tried every save one at a time it took me back 8 saved before it could launch...that's like almost 3 days worth.. I lost quite of bit of effort......anyhow thank you very much for trying to help I hope it doesn't happen again.
I'm a little curious to know what may have caused it though.
Maybe those save files might have gone corrupt.
I'm also curious at why this would happen because if it happens again, I would not mind knowing how to avoid this, Let me know how to check if these files are corrupt or not, please again in plain English, I can navigate through files but am not able to differentiate between good and bad files....

I noticed that Skyrim will sync after you finish playing the game. Leave the Steam client app open for about 10 minutes after you finish playing to let it sync up to the servers so the saved game is ok.
the game is broken... sooner or later you will have so many errors in the save your game wont work. theres not a lot you can do about it other than tricking it into thinking some of the missions you missed or crashed (some missions bug out and you cant complete em) have been completed successfully.
this will remove some but not all errors in the save...
to do this you will have to go to the skyrim nexus and download the cheat sheet that gives the console commands in order of use that will allow you to complete unfinished or unfinished missions.
